There Must Be Fifty Ways to Find Your Lover

There Must Be Fifty Ways to Find Your Lover

A few years ago whilst away on a business trip I found myself eating alone at a quiet little restaurant in some forgotten town. As the restaurant was only small, the tables were quite close to each other and therefore it was quite easy to hear conversations at the adjacent ones. Before too long the next table became occupied by a young couple and after the initial nods and smiles between us that one does on these occasions I got on with my meal. I couldn't help but notice after a little while, that the man seemed to be a little nervous as though he was building up to some sort of announcement. Sure enough before I knew it he had produced a ring and had asked the startled young lady to marry him. Although I am not known to be a great romantic (to which my wife will attest!) I couldn't help but be touched by this tender moment between two complete strangers. I often think about this time wondering whatever happened to them and indeed whether they are still together.

More recently, after remembering them once more, I set myself a little challenge. I decided to undertake some internet research to see what other romantic venues or settings I could find in which couples today could use to ask that life-changing question. To challenge myself further I thought I would see if it was possible to find a variety of such places from just one website. Below are just a few of the results from my findings, to find more - well you will just have to do your own research.
Where could be more pleasurable than Paris, especially in the spring, to quote a well-known song, maybe wait until you take a cruise on the Seine then there is no getting away from giving that all important answer.

Perhaps you are the adventurous type and can think of no greater enjoyment than being harnessed inside a large inflatable ball together and being pushed down a hill. If you can get your breath you may just get the time to propose before you come to a grinding but exhilarating halt.

Speaking of being harnessed together, maybe bungee jumping is your thing; you could do a lover's leap tandem jump but better be quick with the question as you won't get much time.

For those of you who like to keep your feet firmly on the ground you could take afternoon tea in a beautiful country inn or top class city hotel as a backdrop to the big moment.

Now here's one - what about a flight in a hot air balloon, weather dependent of course, especially if like me you live in the UK, but what a way to sweep someone off their feet.

The list is endless and I could go on and on, from bed and breakfast in an unusual building such as a lighthouse, doing a few race track circuits in a fast car, having a break in a romantic hotel, to my personal favourite, paintballing in a tank. Whether you are sedate or downright outrageous there is surely somewhere that you could think of to make that special moment memorable for ever.

Now I'm sure you would really love to know what the answer was from the young lady at the beginning of my story. Well of course she said 'yes' and I sincerely hope they are still enjoying a life together. Happy proposing!
